3. PROFILE OF SKILLS AND COMPETENCES

General competences:

  • cooperate with others in solving simple problems and situations; 
  • understand task assignments or identify the core of a problem, obtain the information needed to solve it, and propose a solution independently or under the guidance of others; 
  • express oneself clearly and independently in Czech, and justify one’s opinion;  
  • apply basic mathematical skills to solve simple practical tasks;  
  • work safely with digital technologies and their basic software;  
  • search for basic information in texts and other sources, understand task assignments, solve simpler problems, identify the information necessary for the solution;  
  • distinguish between different information systems and use them at the user level, enter data and search for and use them for one’s work;  
  • be prepared for lifelong learning and adapt to changing working conditions; 
  • strive for the highest quality of one’s own work;  
  • act economically and ecologically, in accordance with the principles of sustainable development;   
  • observe the principles of occupational health and safety, and fire protection.  

Vocational competences:

  • differentiate basic materials used in carpentry and upholstery production and in the production of decorations; 
  • prepare, treat and handle common carpentry and upholstery materials; 
  • use various materials in the manufacture of products in accordance with the technological process of production; 
  • read and draw up simple drawings and sketches of the product or its components, and use technical terminology; 
  • prepare the workplace, choose and use appropriate tools and utilities; 
  • operate and adjust simple machines and equipment and perform their basic maintenance; 
  • Knowledge of basic automated lines and NC machines in carpentry production; 
  • perform basic work in the manufacture and installation of carpentry products and timber structures or upholstered furniture or other products; 
  • manufacture simple products and semi-finished for carpentry, upholstery or eventually decorative production, carry out their simple repairs and renovations; 
  • treat and store materials and products appropriately; 
  • prepare finished products for shipping.

4. RANGE OF OCCUPATIONS ACCESSIBLE TO THE HOLDER OF THE CERTIFICATE

The graduate is employed in the field of woodworking production, especially in the carpentry and upholstery production.
Examples of possible jobs: worker in carpentry, furniture making, upholstery productionor in the field of construction carpentry.
