3. PROFILE OF SKILLS AND COMPETENCES

General competences:

be well informed about culture, history and the present of the Czech nation within the European and world context;
formulate views and attitudes verbally and in writing, communicate in at least one other foreign language, use technical terminology;
educate themselves, work in an effective way and assess impartially results;
adapt themselves to the changing conditions of life and work, work well in a team and be responsible for assigned tasks;
work with information, use ICT;
use basic mathematics and the basic principles of physics and chemistry when needed;
know the present rights and duties of employers and employees and know how to conduct a job search;
act in an environmentally-conscious manner and in compliance with strategies for sustainability;
apply the fundamentals of health, occupational safety, and fire prevention and safety.

Vocational competences:

know types of technical documentation, have general knowledge in area of normalization and standardization;
understand basics of electrotechnics and electronics and their application inclusive of knowledge of basic electrotechnical measuring methods and techniques;
know characteristics of special circuits and devices used for analog and digital information processing;
know basics of photographical techniques;
know principles and methods of audio-visual production technologies;
have advanced knowledge of information technologies and be able to operate information technology;
use computers as controlling member of data link and use networking infrastructure;
search for information using internet world-wide;
be able to precisely articulate technical speech and writing;
be able to utilize Czech and foreign technical literature;
understand basic terms and relations of entrepreneurs’ economics, information framework and its fields, methods of planning and labour economics..

4. RANGE OF OCCUPATIONS ACCESSIBLE TO THE HOLDER OF THE CERTIFICATE

The graduate can be employed in middle-management functions in field of audio-visual technics and its operation, in work activities related to measuring, operation and service of studio machinery serving to record, transmit and reproduce video and audio signal, while recording, processing, and presentation of TV, film, broadcasting and other types of audio-visual shows and works.
Examples of possible jobs: camera technician, recording technician, sound technician, sound assistant, sound mixer, technician-operator of video recording editing.
