3. PROFILE OF SKILLS AND COMPETENCES |
General competences:
- be familiar with various methods of learning, use sources of information well, show functional literacy;
- understand assignments or identify the cores of problems, exert variable solutions, work both independently and within a team;
- communicate in one foreign language at the level of at least B1 of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages;
- cope with changing socio-economic conditions, be financially literate;
- be aware of the labour market mechanisms, and of the employee-employer relationships, act on career decisions responsibly, understand the significance of lifelong learning;
- use basic mathematics and the basic principles of physics and chemistry when needed in daily situations;
- work with the means of information and communication technologies, exploit adequate sources of information, handle information effectively;
- act in an environmentally-conscious manner and in compliance with strategies for sustainability;
- support values of local, national, European and world cultures, recognize the value of life;
- exert fundamentals of health protection, occupational safety, and fire prevention and safety;
- exert norms and prescriptions in the field.
Vocational competences:
- use the knowledge of both historical development and contemporary trends in visual culture and art production within the specific field;
- exercise one’s own artistic opinion and artistic perception, formulate clearly the idea and content of the artistic intent;
- choose from a range of possibilities of artistic solutions based on analysis of the given task, assess and defend one’s choice;
- use artistic and expressive potential of the technological processes, techniques and materials used in the realization;
- take into account technological, manufacturing and economical aspects relating to the product's realization when creating a design, and keep technical documentation;
- have a complex understanding of the types of materials used, use them economically and ecologically, know how to evaluate their characteristics and make choices about their use from the perspective of their expressive potential and the final impact of the realized product;
- use traditional and modern techniques and technological processes, choose and assert the most convenient procedure for realizing the artistic intent, evaluate the quality of the products of partial work operations throughout the production process;
- use correctly the relevant machinery, equipment and aids for the respective work operations, know how to perform common maintenance;
- organize one’s work effectively in relation to a set deadline, realize it perfectly according to the artistic intent and the high expectations of workmanship of the final product;
- realize products in the proper level of quality based on artistic designs and technical documentation;
- present their work properly in relation to a particular situation;
- be knowledgeable about marketing tools and perform basic marketing activities in relation to one’s field;
- know the principles of professional behaviour and the psychological basics of dealing with customers, business or professional partners;
- follow the fashion trends in one’s field, the development of new technologies, materials, technical equipment etc., and implement them into practice;
- know basic economical operations related to the given professional vocation.
