3. PROFILE OF SKILLS AND COMPETENCES |
General competences:
- be familiar with various methods of learning, use sources of information well, show functional literacy;
- understand assignments or identify the cores of problems, exert variable solutions, work both independently and within a team;
- communicate in one foreign language at the level of at least B1 of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages;
- cope with changing socio-economic conditions, be financially literate;
- be aware of the labour market mechanisms, and of the employee-employer relationships, act on career decisions responsibly, understand the significance of lifelong learning;
- use basic mathematics and the basic principles of physics and chemistry when needed in daily situations;
- work with the means of information and communication technologies, exploit adequate sources of information, handle information effectively;
- act in an environmentally-conscious manner and in compliance with strategies for sustainability;
- support values of local, national, European and world cultures, recognize the value of life;
- exert fundamentals of health protection, occupational safety, and fire prevention and safety;
- exert norms and prescriptions in the field.
Vocational competences:
- check on the health of the cultivated plants and monitor for harmful organisms also off the plant's surface if necessary;
- know the technological processes for growing agricultural crops and evaluate their influence on the presence and degree of both biotic and abiotic damage to the plants;
- take part in implementing preventive and direct measures to regulate harmful organisms;
- use suitable methods of plant protection based on their infestation and heed the principles of consumer protection and the protection of the natural environment;
- implement plans for protecting individual plant products while following the principles of integrated plant protection;
- educate workers who work with substances for plant protection on the topics of health protection and work safety measures;
- manage the execution of protective measures in accord with proper plant care practice while following valid law regulations for safe conduct for handling substances;
- evaluate the success of the performed operations and propose corrective measures;
- ensure the evidence of data, storage, manipulation and transport of substances for plant protection, including the specifics of occupational health and safety;
- follow the principles of protection, processing and storage of plant products;
- use technology aimed at plant health care, instruct personnel in application techniques and respect the control testing of machines and other equipment for plant protection;
- perform regular maintenance, controls and remediation on the machines and equipment used;
- drive vehicles of the T and B classes (tractor, car);
- ensure that plant health care activities respect the protection of waters, bees, animals, protected natural reserves and other items of the natural environment.
