3. PROFILE OF SKILLS AND COMPETENCES |
General competences:
- communicate independently and fluently in mother tongue, give reason for his own attitude;
- seek out essential information from the text and other sources;
- understand the task and solve simple problems, find the information necessary for the solution;
- work or learn under supervision with certain autonomy, apply basic rules and procedures;
- cooperate with others when solving simple problems and situations;
- apply basic mathematic skills to solve simple tasks;
- work with a personal computer and its basic and application software;
- apply principles of safety and health protection at work, fire protection and fire prevention;
- act in an environmentally-conscious manner and in compliance with strategies for sustainability;
- have a basic knowledge of career opportunities in the labor market and of the job search process.
Vocational competences:
- use technical documentation of sidewalk and road pavements, read and compile basic pavement drawings and schemas;
- determine the use of materials;
- know the characteristics of basic materials for paving;
- select and use work equipment and aids, mechanized hand tools, simple machines and equipment for paving works;
- select and use suitable materials and products for paving works, transport them to their place of processing and prepare them for processing;
- choose work procedures for paving;
- prepare and organize the workplace including its demarcation;
- use basic measurement aids and procedures for paving works, measure the transversal and longitudinal slope of pavements;
- create pavement bases and sub-bases, buttresses and curbs;
- create large pavements, mosaics, pavements from stone slabs, concrete tiles and fitting pieces;
- pave gutters;
- take down and repair pavements;
- monitor and evaluate the quality of workmanship within their appropriate level of qualification;
- recognize dangerous substances and manipulate with waste in accord with valid regulations.
