3. PROFILE OF SKILLS AND COMPETENCES
General competences:
 
  • be well informed about culture, history and the present of the Czech nation within the European and world context;
  • formulate views and attitudes verbally and in writing, communicate in at least one other foreign language;
  • effectively organize and manage and participate in a team, including the ability to lead a team and cope with problematic situations;
  • know how to use information and ICT, have basic ICT skills;
  • use basic mathematics and the basic principles of physics and chemistry when needed;
  • act in an environmentally-conscious manner and in compliance with strategies for sustainability;
  • apply the fundamentals of health, occupational safety, and fire prevention and safety.

Vocational competences:

  • read and draw simple construction sketches;
  • distinguish between common materials used in machine manufacture according to technical standards;
  • handle simple procedures for hand processing of metals;
  • handle simple working procedures for assembling and disassembling simple machine components and machines in their entirety;
  • service simple auxiliary lifting equipment at the workplace;
  • work according to the directives of the foreman, and organize work at the workplace;
  • use one of the basic welding techniques (voltaic arc weld under the protecting atmosphere ZK 135 W01, flame weld ZK 311 W01, voltaic arc weld ZK 111 W01);
  • know the essential relations between one's branch and the environment, and the principles of environmental protection from possible negative forces caused by production.
 
4. RANGE OF OCCUPATIONS ACCESSIBLE TO THE HOLDER OF THE CERTIFICATE 
The graduate can take job in manufacture and adjustment of machine components, assembling and disassembling simple components of machines and machines in their entirety, material quality and component size control, functional trials of components, products, and systems. After having gained sufficient practice the graduate is ready to run own business within the field.
Examples of possible jobs: worker in designing, worker in control, machine worker, clockmaker, assembly worker.
