3. PROFILE OF SKILLS AND COMPETENCES
General competences:
 
  • be well informed about culture, history and the present of the Czech nation within the European and world context;
  • formulate views and attitudes verbally and in writing, communicate in at least one other foreign language, use technical terminology;
  • educate themselves, work in an effective way and assess impartially results;
  • adapt themselves to the changing conditions of life and work, work well in a team and be responsible for assigned tasks;
  • work with information, use ICT;
  • use basic mathematics and the basic principles of physics and chemistry when needed;
  • know the present rights and duties of employers and employees and know how to conduct a job search;
  • act in an environmentally-conscious manner and in compliance with strategies for sustainability;
  • apply the fundamentals of health, occupational safety, and fire prevention and safety.

Vocational competences:

  • assemble the mechanical parts of numerically controlled machines that relate to the numerical control;
  • assemble heavy-voltage parts of wiring;
  • connect the outputs of the numerical control and computer control to the machines;
  • reactivate numerically controlled machines and systems;
  • inspect the working of generators of numerically controlled machines and remove any faults;
  • set up a program for machining simple components;
  • find a mistake in the program of numerically controlled machines;
  • set up and demonstrate machines when handing them over to a customer or carrying out repairs and maintenance;
  • instruct in the correct handling of a machine and write out a protocol or report on the repairs .
 
4. RANGE OF OCCUPATIONS ACCESSIBLE TO THE HOLDER OF THE CERTIFICATE 
The graduate can find work in the entrepreneurial or manufacturing spheres when assembling all generators and reactivating numerically controlled machines, centres and integrated production sections, or in services when handing over new numerically controlled machines to customers including warranty services, setting, maintenance, diagnostics and repairs for numerically controlled machines in production. He or she is ready to perform demanding work of a blue-collar nature when diagnosing, setting and reactivating machine and machine equipment, automated lines and systems including their accessories and technical-economic activities of an operational character.
Examples of possible work positions: service technician, operations head, mechanic, operations mechanic, mechatronic, etc.
