3. PROFILE OF SKILLS AND COMPETENCES |
General competences:
- be well informed about culture, history and the present of the Czech nation within the European and world context;
- formulate views and attitudes verbally and in writing, communicate in at least one other foreign language, use technical terminology;
- educate themselves, work in an effective way and assess impartially results;
- adapt themselves to the changing conditions of life and work, work well in a team and be responsible for assigned tasks;
- work with information, use ICT;
- use basic mathematics and the basic principles of physics and chemistry when needed;
- know the present rights and duties of employers and employees and know how to conduct a job search;
- act in an environmentally-conscious manner and in compliance with strategies for sustainability;
- apply the fundamentals of health, occupational safety, and fire prevention and safety.
Vocational competences:
- know the principles of technologically processing grains into flour and milling products and other raw materials for making feedstuffs and feed mixes;
- apply knowledge about the chemical composition and storage of grains, about using waste when processing grains into flour for milling products;
- handle the technological procedures and use the principles of work hygiene when milling grains into flour and milling products, feedstuffs and feed mixes;
- independently manage all the production and supplementary operations associated with the relevant operation of grain processing and control the production sections, deal with any technical problems that might arise during the production, packaging and labelling of flour and milling products, feedstuffs and feed mixes;
- operate a plant's grain processing machines and equipment;
- uphold the health and safety standards and technological procedures, ensure the food outlet is clean;
- be as efficient as possible with raw materials, intermediates, products and wastes that can be further used;
- make the technological calculations and statistical assessments associated with grain processing;
- know how to set out and assess qualitative indicators for the input materials, intermediates and finished products for the entire technological process and make corrections;
- carry out the requisite operational records for the given grain processing product, keep technical and laboratory documentation;
- be familiar with food legislation and the logistics and marketing in the area of industrial grain processing;
- assess a food product from the standpoint of its possible negative environmental impacts, behave in an environmentally conscious manner.
