3. PROFILE OF SKILLS AND COMPETENCES
General competences:
 
  • be well informed about culture, history and the present of the Czech nation within the European and world context;
  • formulate views and attitudes verbally and in writing, communicate in at least one other foreign language, use technical terminology;
  • educate themselves, work in an effective way and assess impartially results;
  • adapt themselves to the changing conditions of life and work, work well in a team and be responsible for assigned tasks;
  • work with information, use ICT;
  • use basic mathematics and the basic principles of physics and chemistry when needed;
  • know the present rights and duties of employers and employees and know how to conduct a job search;
  • act in an environmentally-conscious manner and in compliance with strategies for sustainability;
  • apply the fundamentals of health, occupational safety, and fire prevention and safety.

Vocational competences:

  • formulate in general the nature of phenomena and tasks in the field and to describe the functioning relations in electrotechnical equipment and power-supply systems;
  • utilise equipment working on electrotechnical principles;
  • make electrotechnical calculations and to apply the graphical methods of task solving, using basic electrotechnical laws, relations and rules;
  • utilise and put into practice electrotechnical gauging methods;
  • display parts and systems of electrical equipment;
  • make technical drawings and to prepare drawing documentation for electric equipment;
  • know the properties of electrotechnical materials and utilise them for electrotechnical products;
  • effectively utilise ICT in preparing technical documentation and obtaining the results of calculations and solved tasks;
  • utilise the knowledge of operational and safety regulations in electrotechnology, effective standards and first aid principles.
 
4. RANGE OF OCCUPATIONS ACCESSIBLE TO THE HOLDER OF THE CERTIFICATE 
The graduate can hold middle management positions in electrotechnology and perform constructional, technological and designing activities of an electro-technical nature. The graduate can manage the operation of an electrotechnical and other company and supply activity and inspect and revive electric equipment.
Examples of possible jobs: development worker, designer, power-supply specialist, operator, training technician, etc.
