3. PROFILE OF SKILLS AND COMPETENCES |
General competences:
- be familiar with various methods of learning, use sources of information well, show functional literacy;
- understand assignments or identify the cores of problems, exert variable solutions, work both independently and within a team;
- communicate in one foreign language at the level of at least B1 of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages;
- cope with changing socio-economic conditions, be financially literate;
- be aware of the labour market mechanisms, and of the employee-employer relationships, act on career decisions responsibly, understand the significance of lifelong learning;
- use basic mathematics and the basic principles of physics and chemistry when needed in daily situations;
- work with the means of information and communication technologies, exploit adequate sources of information, handle information effectively;
- act in an environmentally-conscious manner and in compliance with strategies for sustainability;
- support values of local, national, European and world cultures, recognize the value of life;
- exert fundamentals of health protection, occupational safety, and fire prevention and safety;
- exert norms and prescriptions in the field.
Vocational competences:
Specialization of the profession: surface and plastic engraving, artistic blacksmithing, locksmithing, goldsmithing and silversmithing, grinding and engraving of precious stones, art casting etc.
- have knowledge of the art history and aesthetics of applied arts;
- have knowledge of the trends in contemporary design, the ability to apply the inventive creative solution to a task;
- master the art expressional techniques related to visual processing of materials in the field of specialization;
- know the properties of used materials used and decide on the appropriate choice in terms of use for a particular product;
- master and implement traditional and new technological processes and techniques according to the field of education, choose the most appropriate procedure for the realization of visual design; evaluate quality of operations;
- use artistic and expressive possibilities of implementation of technological processes and of processed materials;
- have knowledge of the range of working tools, equipment, instruments and machinery, use specific work procedures, know the ways of their treatment and disposal;
- keep the specified technological procedures when working with the material in respect to the relevant standards;
- make simple, complicated, and highly sophisticated products based on art designs;
- use suitable technological procedures for surface treatment;
- create design of simple, complex and highly sophisticated products, or assemblies;
- apply when creating art design technology, manufacturing and economic considerations for its implementation, make a complete artistic, technical and technological documentation;
- use computer graphics to create graphic designs;
- perform a set of activities across the full range of technological areas by specific training focus.
