3. PROFILE OF SKILLS AND COMPETENCES |
General competences:
- be well informed about culture, history and the present of the Czech nation within the European and world context;
- formulate views and attitudes verbally and in writing, communicate in at least one other foreign language, use technical terminology;
- educate themselves, work in an effective way and assess impartially results;
- adapt themselves to the changing conditions of life and work, work well in a team and be responsible for assigned tasks;
- work with information, use ICT;
- use basic mathematics and the basic principles of physics and chemistry when needed;
- know the present rights and duties of employers and employees and know how to conduct a job search;
- act in an environmentally-conscious manner and in compliance with strategies for sustainability;
- apply the fundamentals of health, occupational safety, and fire prevention and safety.
Vocational competences:
- use suitable aids, devices, machines and equipment;
- know the kinds of materials used, raw materials and intermediates, evaluate their properties and determine how to use them;
- command the technical procedures of producing furniture including surface treatments, work with technical documentation;
- know the kinds of tests for furniture products and their purpose;
- design constructional solutions for typical and atypical furniture elements, sets, civil and public interiors;
- respect the principles of anthropometry and ergonomics;
- elaborate construction documentation;
- design simple and highly demanding single items of furniture, sets and whole interiors or their parts;
- make articles of furniture according to a design and a set work schedule, respect the functional and aesthetic aspects;
- make scale models of articles of furniture, interiors or their parts;
- apply economic and production standpoints when realising a creative design;
- apply creative approaches, defend the approach chosen;
- use the graphic SW when processing creative designs and realising them;
- carry out the basic marketing activities, conduct oneself professionally with the customer, business and work partners.
