3. PROFILE OF SKILLS AND COMPETENCES |
General competences:
- be well informed about culture, history and the present of the Czech nation within the European and world context;
- formulate views and attitudes verbally and in writing, communicate in at least one other foreign language, use technical terminology;
- educate themselves, work in an effective way and assess impartially results;
- adapt themselves to the changing conditions of life and work, work well in a team and be responsible for assigned tasks;
- work with information, use ICT;
- use basic mathematics and the basic principles of physics and chemistry when needed;
- know the present rights and duties of employers and employees and know how to conduct a job search;
- act in an environmentally-conscious manner and in compliance with strategies for sustainability;
- apply the fundamentals of health, occupational safety, and fire prevention and safety.
Vocational competences:
- know professional terminology;
- explain technological production procedures most frequently used in different industrial fields;
- describe regular operations and functions of the most important technological machinery and apply the knowledge in evaluating technological processes;
- evaluate the impact of industrial technologies on the environment, recognise and evaluate the adverse impact of human activity on the environment and propose measures for its elimination;
- identify the biggest sources of pollution, their impact on the environment, including the work environment, and implement the methods that reduce these sources
- analyse and assess water, air and soil samples, prepare reports and propose relevant measures
- put into practice the knowledge of new alternative sources of energy and raw materials and find the ways of their effective utilisation;
- observe pollutant limits and to charge sanctions for polluting and destroying the environment;
- push forth environmental management principles and utilise progressive, environment-friendly technologies in connection with quality, occupational safety and fire protection standards;
- prioritise prevention of industrial accidents and, in case of their occurrence, apply the procedures for eliminating their consequences;
- know the industrial ecology legislation, put into practice the environmental law and effectively use environmental protection regulations.
