| 3. PROFILE OF SKILLS AND COMPETENCES |
General competences:
- be familiar with various methods of learning, use sources of information well, show functional literacy;
- understand assignments or identify the cores of problems, exert variable solutions, work both independently and within a team;
- communicate in one foreign language at the level of at least B1 of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages;
- cope with changing socio-economic conditions, be financially literate;
- be aware of the labour market mechanisms, and of the employee-employer relationships, act on career decisions responsibly, understand the significance of lifelong learning;
- use basic mathematics and the basic principles of physics and chemistry when needed in daily situations;
- work with the means of information and communication technologies, exploit adequate sources of information, handle information effectively;
- act in an environmentally-conscious manner and in compliance with strategies for sustainability;
- support values of local, national, European and world cultures, recognize the value of life;
- exert fundamentals of health protection, occupational safety, and fire prevention and safety;
- exert norms and prescriptions in the field.
Vocational competences:
- use knowledge of musical development and musical instruments in one’s work;
- play the piano at a level of proficiency needed to present one’s work's results;
- know the technique of tuning pianos and related instruments, i.e. tuning Viennese-style and English-style grand pianos, upright pianos of various brands and construction types, understand the tonality of the upright piano's frame, tune a spinet, a single-manual and double-manual harpsichord and cimbalom, bring two instruments in tune;
- know the basic construction of a grand piano and upright piano, regulate their mechanisms including the damper and pedal systems;
- know the basic construction of a spinet and a harpsichord, regulate them;
- know the basic construction of a cimbalom, know how to regulate its bridges;
- diagnose the type and extent of a fault in the given musical instruments, evaluate the technical and technological difficulties of their remediation while taking the possible options into account;
- perform the relevant repairs on these instruments;
- have complex understanding of the types of materials used, use them economically and ecologically, expertly evaluate their characteristics and decide on their selection;
- use correctly and in accord with relevant work operations the proper equipment, tools and aids, know how to treat them and perform regular maintenance;
- organize their work effectively, perform it perfectly and in accord with expectations of high quality;
- know the principles of professional conduct and the psychological basics of dealing with customers;
- know the basic economical operations relating to their presumed professional path.
