General competences:

be well informed about culture, history and the present of the Czech nation within the European and world context;
formulate views and attitudes verbally and in writing, communicate in at least one other foreign language, use technical terminology;
educate themselves, work in an effective way and assess impartially results;
adapt themselves to the changing conditions of life and work, work well in a team and be responsible for assigned tasks;
work with information, use ICT;
use basic mathematics and the basic principles of physics and chemistry when needed;
know the present rights and duties of employers and employees and know how to conduct a job search;
act in an environmentally-conscious manner and in compliance with strategies for sustainability;
apply the fundamentals of health, occupational safety, and fire prevention and safety.

Vocational competences:

control the technological process of the foundry production;
control the quality of the foundry production;
monitor the technological process of production in the foundry industry;
focus on normalisation of production in the foundry industry;
describe and explain the features of the foundry facility;
handle economical activities related to running a business in the foundry industry including the knowledge of the relevant legal standards;
have a good knowledge of the organization and management of large as well as small businesses;
apply the automotive elements to machines and production facilities in the foundry industry;
work with a specific software equipment used in the foundry industry;
use professional literature in the foundry industry for his/her work.

4. RANGE OF OCCUPATIONS ACCESSIBLE TO THE HOLDER OF THE CERTIFICATE

The graduate can take a job in the field of operational management of the technological and technical process in foundries and related plants, control and economic sector.

Examples of possible jobs: foundry technician dispatcher, foundry technician metallurgist, foundry technician foreman, foundry technician modeller, foundry technician standard-setter, foundry technician designer, foundry technician of the quality management, foundry technician technologist
