3. PROFILE OF SKILLS AND COMPETENCES

General competences:

General competences has been acquired under previous education.

Vocational competences:

assemble, repair and maintain clay, concrete and fibre cement roofing for the formwork and lathing;
choose and use materials and products for roofing, transport them to the place of processing and prepare them prior to processing;
choose and design technology workflow of roofing works according to technical documentation;
choose, use and maintain tools, job aids and means of mechanization for roofing;
prepare and organize work, determine the need for material and staff;
make additional layer of roof sheeting such as insurance, foundation waterproofing, thermal insulation and vapour barrier;
assess the optimal working conditions and technology in roofing work, such as air temperature, humidity, etc.;
read the technical documentation of roof, make simple roofing drawings and sketches;
carry out simple calculations of material consumption;
monitor and evaluate the quality of work done.

4. RANGE OF OCCUPATIONS ACCESSIBLE TO THE HOLDER OF THE CERTIFICATE

The graduate is employed in the field of construction. He is able to perform basic roofing work on the pitched roofs: make base coating under the covers, assemble, repair and maintain folded and coated roofing, and make additional layer of roof deck.
Examples of possible jobs: roofer.
