3. PROFILE OF SKILLS AND COMPETENCES |
General competences:
- be well informed about culture, history and the present of the Czech nation within the European and world context;
- formulate views and attitudes verbally and in writing, communicate in at least one other foreign language, use technical terminology;
- educate themselves, work in an effective way and assess impartially results;
- adapt themselves to the changing conditions of life and work, work well in a team and be responsible for assigned tasks;
- work with information, use ICT;
- use basic mathematics and the basic principles of physics and chemistry when needed;
- know the present rights and duties of employers and employees and know how to conduct a job search;
- act in an environmentally-conscious manner and in compliance with strategies for sustainability;
- apply the fundamentals of health, occupational safety, and fire prevention and safety.
Vocational competences:
- procure, provide, and sell catering, accommodation, spa, currency exchange, transportation and other services related to travelling;
- handle the work of travel agencies and keep and prepare standard documents;
- know the geography, history, and art history of major tourist destinations in the CR, Europe and the world and use the knowledge in tour preparation and tourist guiding;
- prepare guide information and say it in the Czech language and a foreign language, provide guide services, and keep guide paperwork;
- prepare accounting documents, keep tax documents, and keep books using computers;
- make payments and prepare documents related to cash and non-cash payments;
- prepare calculations and know how to set prices;
- know basic legal regulations necessary for doing business in the travel industry in particular;
- understand business activities of market entities;
- know how the travel business is managed in the CR and the EU and know international organizations;
- provide information services, work with travel software, and operate reservation systems.
