3. PROFILE OF SKILLS AND COMPETENCES |
General competences:
- be well informed about culture, history and the present of the Czech nation within the European and world context;
- formulate views and attitudes verbally and in writing, communicate in at least one other foreign language;
- effectively organize and manage and participate in a team, including the ability to lead a team and cope with problematic situations;
- know how to use information and ICT, have basic ICT skills;
- use basic mathematics and the basic principles of physics and chemistry when needed;
- act in an environmentally-conscious manner and in compliance with strategies for sustainability;
- apply the fundamentals of health, occupational safety, and fire prevention and safety.
Vocational competences:
- attend to individual categories of horses, monitor their growth and development;
- prepare the fodder, assess its quality and feed the individual categories of horses with regards to their usage;
- operate the technical equipment in the stables, maintain and repair aids and equipment necessary for attending to, training and using horses;
- appraise the horses' health and provide them with first aid, carry out the pertinent measures according to a veterinary's instructions;
- recognise rutting, allow and attend to horse breeding, help in birth;
- judge a horse's exterior and help when shoeing horses;
- prepare sports, draught and race horses for use;
- know and uphold the racing rules and be familiar with the regulations for riding sports;
- ride a horse and ride with a team.
