3. PROFILE OF SKILLS AND COMPETENCES |
General competences:
- be well informed about culture, history and the present of the Czech nation within the European and world context;
- formulate views and attitudes verbally and in writing, communicate in at least one other foreign language, use technical terminology;
- educate themselves, work in an effective way and assess impartially results;
- adapt themselves to the changing conditions of life and work, work well in a team and be responsible for assigned tasks;
- work with information, use ICT;
- use basic mathematics and the basic principles of physics and chemistry when needed;
- know the present rights and duties of employers and employees and know how to conduct a job search;
- act in an environmentally-conscious manner and in compliance with strategies for sustainability;
- apply the fundamentals of health, occupational safety, and fire prevention and safety.
Vocational competences:
- use suitable aids, tools, machines and equipment;
- have a comprehensive overview of packaging materials and the qualities and use of auxiliary devices;
- make decisions regarding the selection of materials depending on the intended use, assess the suitability of their combination;
- keep abreast of the latest developments in packaging technology, maintain an overview of the manufacture of packaging materials;
- know the basic technological operations involved in the processing of paper, cardboard, plastics, foils, metals and wood for packaging production and utilize the technology of producing packaging from these materials;
- apply knowledge of the graphic design of packaging, its function, and conditions for manufacture;
- comprehend and utilize individual printing techniques for the printing of various types of packaging materials and packaging;
- assess the processing and end quality of packaging and evaluate its economic demands;
- have basic information about industrial design and its application in the packaging industry;
- construct packaging with respect to functional, technological, economic, safety, and creative aspects;
- create the shaping and graphic design of simple and complex packaging, prepare accompanying reports;
- create simple and complex packaging using appropriate technical procedures based upon design proposals and technical documentation;
- use appropriate software in creating design proposals and documentation;
- perform basic marketing activities and professionally negotiate with customers, co-workers and business partners.
