3. PROFILE OF SKILLS AND COMPETENCES
General competences:
 
  • communicate independently and fluently in mother tongue, give reason for his own attitude;
  • work in a team;
  • use basic mathematics when needed;
  • apply the fundamentals of health, occupational safety, and fire prevention and safety.

Vocational competences:

  • understand construction drawings and floor documentation;
  • store and transport flooring and supplies;
  • make simple material consumption calculations;
  • choose, use and take care of tools, machinery and work aids;
  • make, modify, check and receive sub-flooring;
  • lay wooden floors - board, timber and parquet floors;
  • lay or glue elastic and textile flooring on floors and stairways;
  • lay cork floors;
  • lay finger-joint floors;
  • perform finishing works on laid flooring, such as skirt board welding, moulding and embedding;
  • maintain and repair different types of floor;
  • understand simple price matters in the field;
  • monitor and assess the quantity and quality of performed work;
  • observe occupational health, safety and hygiene regulations and fire regulations;
  • assess the impact of his/her own work activity on the environment and properly dispose of waste.
 
4. RANGE OF OCCUPATIONS ACCESSIBLE TO THE HOLDER OF THE CERTIFICATE 
The graduate can be employed in construction or work in the roofing and carpentry trade.
Examples of possible jobs: overlaid floor maker, wooden floor maker, floating floor maker.
