3. PROFILE OF SKILLS AND COMPETENCES
General competences:
 
  • be familiar with various methods of learning, use sources of information well, show functional literacy;
  • understand assignments or identify the cores of problems, exert variable solutions, work both independently and within a team;
  • communicate in one foreign language at the level of at least B1 of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages; 
  • cope with changing socio-economic conditions, be financially literate;
  • be aware of the labour market mechanisms, and of the employee-employer relationships, act on career decisions responsibly, understand the significance of lifelong learning;
  • use basic mathematics and the basic principles of physics and chemistry when needed in daily situations;
  • work with the means of information and communication technologies, exploit adequate sources of information, handle information effectively;
  • act in an environmentally-conscious manner and in compliance with strategies for sustainability;
  • support values of local, national, European and world cultures, recognize the value of life;
  • exert fundamentals of health protection, occupational safety, and fire prevention and safety;
  • exert norms and prescriptions in the field.

Vocational competences:

  • use knowledge of the historical development and current trends in visual culture and artistic creation in its field;
  • apply own creative mind, clearly formulate creative idea and content of artistic intention;
  • select art solution based on the analysis of a given task, evaluate and defend it;
  • use visual and expressive possibilities of implementation processes and techniques and materials used for their expressive possibilities and the resulting tone of the realized product;
  • apply the technology, production and economic aspects of implementation when creating art design, work out the technical documentation;
  • present the work in relation to the specific situation appropriately, perform basic marketing activities in relation to the field;
  • manage principles of professional behavior and the basics of dealing with customers, business partners and colleagues at work;
  • have a complex overview of the types of materials used, handle them economically and ecologically, assess their properties and decide on their choice;
  • handle technological processes and techniques, choose the most convenient implementation process of visual design, continuously evaluate the quality of partial results of work operations;
  • correctly use, in compliance with the relevant work operations, corresponding machinery, equipment, tools, instruments and devices;
  • monitor the development of new technologies, materials, technical equipment, etc. and implement them into practice;
  • perform basic economic activities in relation to the anticipated professional life.
 
4. RANGE OF OCCUPATIONS ACCESSIBLE TO THE HOLDER OF THE CERTIFICATE 
The graduate is employed on the basis of gained professional profiling in the respective field of art craft and final processing. The specific area of practice in industrial or handmade arts and crafts production results from specialization of the vocational training received in compliance with the school educational program (school curriculum).
These include the weavers design, knitting design, design of lace and embroidery, printing design, design of decorative items made of textiles and natural materials.
Examples of possible jobs: designer and author of demanding products in the field of graphic design. He/she can perform professional activities either individually or in design studios, pattern centers and workshops of companies dealing with the production and manufacture of the relevant product range. He/she may work in the technical preparation of production and as a head of workshop or section involved in the given area of applied arts and production.
