3. PROFILE OF SKILLS AND COMPETENCES |
General competences:
- be well informed about culture, history and the present of the Czech nation within the European and world context;
- formulate views and attitudes verbally and in writing, communicate in at least one other foreign language, use technical terminology;
- educate themselves, work in an effective way and assess impartially results;
- adapt themselves to the changing conditions of life and work, work well in a team and be responsible for assigned tasks;
- work with information, use ICT;
- use basic mathematics and the basic principles of physics and chemistry when needed;
- know the present rights and duties of employers and employees and know how to conduct a job search;
- act in an environmentally-conscious manner and in compliance with strategies for sustainability;
- apply the fundamentals of health, occupational safety, and fire prevention and safety.
Vocational competences:
- know the organisational structure in the polygraphic branch;
- know and explain the principles of reproduction systems and printing machines in the polygraphic branch;
- be aware of the book production and special polygraphic technologies used;
- know all polygraphic techniques, in all phases of the polygraphic production;
- apply aesthetic principles in polygraphic production;
- be aware of graphic techniques concerning printing;
- use creative approach when solving bookbinding tasks;
- provide a suitable design for the book bindings;
- carry out an order, costing and propose production technology;
- provide technological preparation for commercial stationery and standard book-binding products;
- carry out tasks in the process of preparing prints and printing production, continuously assess the products' quality;
- choose suitable work aids, instruments, programme equipment for specific work procedures;
- suitably use various kinds of materials, respect the prescribed storage modes and handling the materials;
- carry out basic bookbinding operations;
- carry out basic and advanced bookbinding techniques, follow the technological discipline;
- provide effective and excellent work outputs and assess the quality of individual technological procedures, semi-products, and final products.
