3. PROFILE OF SKILLS AND COMPETENCES

General competences:

be well informed about culture, history and the present of the Czech nation within the European and world context;
formulate views and attitudes verbally and in writing, communicate in at least one other foreign language;
effectively organize and manage and participate in a team, including the ability to lead a team and cope with problematic situations;
know how to use information and ICT, have basic ICT skills;
use basic mathematics and the basic principles of physics and chemistry when needed;
act in an environmentally-conscious manner and in compliance with strategies for sustainability;
apply the fundamentals of health, occupational safety, and fire prevention and safety.

Vocational competences:

prepare and alter the goods for sale;
demonstrate the goods to the customer;
wrap goods in various manners including gift wrapping;
deal with complaints in accord with the valid legislation;
behave sociably and act professionally in relations with customers and business partners;
operate the cash register and cash desk systems independently, accept cash and cashless payments;
carry out the administrative agenda connected to work on a cash register;
carry out goods sampling and receipt, check them;
store and treat goods in accord with the valid legislation;
work with devices, mechanical and other equipment in retail units;
make out and keep the documents related to the movement of goods in a retail unit;
carry out a physical and accounts inventory of goods in a retail unit;
carry out the basic promotional and arranging activities linked to displaying and selling goods;
set out offers and use the sales support means;
make out business and trade papers in accord with a standardised arrangement;
have a command of commodities science from the area of textiles and clothing.

4. RANGE OF OCCUPATIONS ACCESSIBLE TO THE HOLDER OF THE CERTIFICATE

The graduate can find work as an employee carrying out a vocation in the area of retail sales. After acquiring the necessary experience in the field they are ready to start independent business in the given area.
Examples of possible jobs: sales assistant for textile goods, cash desk operator.
