3. PROFILE OF SKILLS AND COMPETENCES |
General competences:
- be well informed about culture, history and the present of the Czech nation within the European and world context;
- formulate views and attitudes verbally and in writing, communicate in at least one other foreign language, use technical terminology;
- educate themselves, work in an effective way and assess impartially results;
- adapt themselves to the changing conditions of life and work, work well in a team and be responsible for assigned tasks;
- work with information, use ICT;
- use basic mathematics and the basic principles of physics and chemistry when needed;
- know the present rights and duties of employers and employees and know how to conduct a job search;
- act in an environmentally-conscious manner and in compliance with strategies for sustainability;
- apply the fundamentals of health, occupational safety, and fire prevention and safety.
Vocational competences:
- help children and pupils with special educational needs, especially those from different social-cultural backgrounds, adapt to the school environment and overcome barriers when learning;
- carry out partial pedagogical activities with these pupils and children in accordance with the teacher's instructions, help them prepare for a lesson;
- develop children's language skills, their social, work and other skills and habits under the leadership of a teacher, guide them towards health care;
- guide children and pupils from minority backgrounds and their parents towards social and ethnic identity;
- help to develop a sense of aesthetics and creativity in children and pupils, guide them to actively use their free time;
- take part in creating a positive social and educational climate in school, remove communicational and socio-cultural barriers between children and pupils from minorities and the majority;
- cooperate with teachers and other education workers when educating children and pupils from minority backgrounds and during communications with their parents;
- take part in preventing socially pathological phenomena in children and young people in school;
- apply certain knowledge and skills from pedagogy (including the issues of certain categories of children with special education needs), the psychology and methods of working with minorities;
- uphold the general legal and school regulations, guide children and pupils to observe health and safety rules and to environmental behaviour.
