3. PROFILE OF SKILLS AND COMPETENCES |
General competences:
- be well informed about culture, history and the present of the Czech nation within the European and world context;
- formulate views and attitudes verbally and in writing, communicate in at least one other foreign language;
- effectively organize and manage and participate in a team, including the ability to lead a team and cope with problematic situations;
- know how to use information and ICT, have basic ICT skills;
- use basic mathematics and the basic principles of physics and chemistry when needed;
- act in an environmentally-conscious manner and in compliance with strategies for sustainability;
- apply the fundamentals of health, occupational safety, and fire prevention and safety.
Vocational competences:
- carry out stove-fitter work in accordance with the material and technical standards;
- build, reconstruct, repair and maintain traditional and modern ceramic stoves and cookers and other local heating units such as laundry boilers, oven, grills and smokehouses;
- build open fireplaces, stoves and enclosed stoves;
- carry out the basic building work such as simple masonry, build chimneys, fit in lintels and ceiling constructions, plaster small areas with various kinds of plaster and simple tiling and facings;
- connect the heating units to chimneys in accord with the current regulations;
- heat in local heating units;
- analyse defects in heating units and chimneys;
- choose and use stove-fitting materials and products, appraise their properties;
- be familiar with the technological and work procedures;
- use the standard and special tools and work aids for stove-fitting work;
- prepare and organise the workplace, determine the materials needed, make out a timetable for the work and the price;
- make and read simple construction plans and fireplace and stove designs;
- determine the weight of the heating units to calculate the load on horizontal constructions.
