3. PROFILE OF SKILLS AND COMPETENCES
General competences:
 
  • be well informed about culture, history and the present of the Czech nation within the European and world context;
  • formulate views and attitudes verbally and in writing, communicate in at least one other foreign language, use technical terminology;
  • educate themselves, work in an effective way and assess impartially results;
  • adapt themselves to the changing conditions of life and work, work well in a team and be responsible for assigned tasks;
  • work with information, use ICT;
  • use basic mathematics and the basic principles of physics and chemistry when needed;
  • know the present rights and duties of employers and employees and know how to conduct a job search;
  • act in an environmentally-conscious manner and in compliance with strategies for sustainability;
  • apply the fundamentals of health, occupational safety, and fire prevention and safety.

Vocational competences:

  • work with appropriate laws and regulations;
  • use various sources of information in the field of law;
  • apply knowledge of legal matters when solving specific problems;
  • be well versed in issues of harmonization of the legal codes of the Czech Republic and the European Union;
  • be familiar with issues of international law;
  • apply his or her knowledge to the management of small companies and bodies of state administration and local government;
  • know the current tax administration and apply this knowledge when solving concrete problems
  • generate accounting documents;
  • be well versed in subjects of the financial market;
  • apply knowledge of developing trends in society, in law and in economics.
 
4. RANGE OF OCCUPATIONS ACCESSIBLE TO THE HOLDER OF THE CERTIFICATE 
The graduate is prepared to enter professions relating to law, commercial-entrepreneurial and administrative branches in state administration, local governments, the court system, advocacy and notary services. He or she is aware of fundamental issues in the legal system and the application of the legal standards of the Czech Republic and the European Union and their specific peculiarities in connection with the harmonization of the Czech legal code with European Union law.
Examples of possible employment opportunities include: state administration official, legal secretary, legal assistant, notary office secretary, administrative worker in social services, and other administrative posts requiring a middle-school education.
