| 3. PROFILE OF SKILLS AND COMPETENCES |
General competences:
- be well informed about culture, history and the present of the Czech nation within the European and world context;
- formulate views and attitudes verbally and in writing, communicate in at least one other foreign language, use technical terminology;
- educate themselves, work in an effective way and assess impartially results;
- adapt themselves to the changing conditions of life and work, work well in a team and be responsible for assigned tasks;
- work with information, use ICT;
- use basic mathematics and the basic principles of physics and chemistry when needed;
- know the present rights and duties of employers and employees and know how to conduct a job search;
- act in an environmentally-conscious manner and in compliance with strategies for sustainability;
- apply the fundamentals of health, occupational safety, and fire prevention and safety.
Vocational competences:
- use the right aids, tools, machinery and equipment and know their functions and how to take care of them;
- identify the types of stone and know the types of used materials and the methods of their storing and handling;
- understand the technological procedures of stone carving by hand and machine;
- know how to measure sculpture work in stone and know the technological procedures of stone carving and seam carving;
- know the procedures of joining individual parts of a sculpture during final assembly;
- create sculptural objects and decorations etc. for interiors and exteriors;
- prepare and work with technical documentation;
- cast simple as well as highly complicated models and prototypes and make moulds;
- make technically simple as well as highly complicated sculptures, reliefs, decorations etc. using suitable procedures;
- employ economic factors in deciding about realisation of an artwork;
- reconstruct, restore and preserve stone sculptures that are not cultural monuments and prepare documentation;
- use relevant software applications in creating artwork and technical documentation;
- perform basic marketing activities and behave professionally in contact with customers and business and work partners.
