3. PROFILE OF SKILLS AND COMPETENCES
General competences:
 
  • be well informed about culture, history and the present of the Czech nation within the European and world context;
  • formulate views and attitudes verbally and in writing, communicate in at least one other foreign language, use technical terminology;
  • educate themselves, work in an effective way and assess impartially results;
  • adapt themselves to the changing conditions of life and work, work well in a team and be responsible for assigned tasks;
  • work with information, use ICT;
  • use basic mathematics and the basic principles of physics and chemistry when needed;
  • know the present rights and duties of employers and employees and know how to conduct a job search;
  • act in an environmentally-conscious manner and in compliance with strategies for sustainability;
  • apply the fundamentals of health, occupational safety, and fire prevention and safety.

Vocational competences:

  • negotiate the purchase and sale of goods and the offer of services;
  • deal with complaints whilst purchasing and selling goods and providing services in accord with the valid legislation;
  • apply an effective marketing strategy, carry out market research, data collection and analysis;
  • process by hand and on a computer accounting documents and documentation linked to purchasing and selling goods and the offer of services;
  • do the accounts in accord with the legal norms of the CR by hand and using computing technology;
  • determine the tax obligations for the basic taxes in the CR (VAT, income tax);
  • keep an administrative agenda using computer technology and the standard office technologies;
  • make out business letters in the standardised form for the CR;
  • behave sociably and professionally in relations with customers and business partners.
 
4. RANGE OF OCCUPATIONS ACCESSIBLE TO THE HOLDER OF THE CERTIFICATE 
The graduate can find work in organisations and companies in the sales and purchases of goods department. After training they can lead a small collective of workers.
Examples of possible positions: dealer, trade officer, business representative, sales clerk, goods purchasing officer, appraiser, head of the sales section.
