3. PROFILE OF SKILLS AND COMPETENCES |
General competences:
- be well informed about culture, history and the present of the Czech nation within the European and world context;
- formulate views and attitudes verbally and in writing, communicate in at least one other foreign language, use technical terminology;
- educate themselves, work in an effective way and assess impartially results;
- adapt themselves to the changing conditions of life and work, work well in a team and be responsible for assigned tasks;
- work with information, use ICT;
- use basic mathematics and the basic principles of physics and chemistry when needed;
- know the present rights and duties of employers and employees and know how to conduct a job search;
- act in an environmentally-conscious manner and in compliance with strategies for sustainability;
- apply the fundamentals of health, occupational safety, and fire prevention and safety.
Vocational competences:
- use basic marketing tools, evaluate market research results;
- obtain, sort and use information, analyse problems and propose solutions;
- set out operative plans;
- close business and work contracts;
- use the basic tools for labour relations;
- keep accounting records;
- process economic information and evaluate it;
- carry out the basic hotel administration, set out business letters and correspondence in a foreign language;
- organise, check and manage workers in the sales and accommodation section;
- use the raw materials for making dishes and beverages;
- operate the technological equipment in the business;
- check food quality;
- set up food and beverage menus;
- standardise and calculate the price of food and beverages;
- organise the work in a business and during gastronomic events;
- carry out the service of food and beverages, ensure the running of an accommodation centre;
- use comprehensive registration systems, integrated reservation systems and other information technology means when providing accommodation and catering services;
- communicate with guests and workers in a foreign language.
