3. PROFILE OF SKILLS AND COMPETENCES

General competences:

communicate independently and fluently in mother tongue, give reason for his own attitude;
seek out essential information from the text and other sources;
understand the task and solve simple problems, find the information necessary for the solution;
work or learn under supervision with certain autonomy, apply basic rules and procedures;
cooperate with others when solving simple problems and situations;
apply basic mathematic skills to solve simple tasks;
work with a personal computer and its basic and application software;
apply principles of safety and health protection at work, fire protection and fire prevention;
act in an environmentally-conscious manner and in compliance with strategies for sustainability;
have a basic knowledge of career opportunities in the labor market and of the job search process.

Vocational competences:

distinguish basic materials used in basketry and/or manufacture of brushes;
prepare, treat and process materials with respect to their characteristics and utilisation/usage;
choose various materials in the manufacture of products in accordance with the technological manufacturing process;
read and draw up simple drawings and sketches of the product or its part;
prepare the workplace, choose and use appropriate tools and equipment;
choose and follow appropriate procedures according to the nature of the product in compliance with the technological procedure;
make basic basketry and/or brush products and other utility and decorative products;
carry out simple repairs and renovation of products;
treat and store materials and products appropriately;
check, pack and prepare finished products for shipping.

4. RANGE OF OCCUPATIONS ACCESSIBLE TO THE HOLDER OF THE CERTIFICATE

The graduate is employed in the field of woodworking production, especially in the processing of natural tissues and other materials in basketry and / or manufacture of brush products, in work activities corresponding to the specialization in the manufacture of knitted utility and decorative basketry products, haberdashery items and home accessories made from natural materials/tissue and / or brush products.
Examples of possible jobs: basket maker, brush maker, manufacturer of utility and decorative wooden objects.
