3. PROFILE OF SKILLS AND COMPETENCES
General competences:
 
  • communicate independently and fluently in the mother tongue, give reasons for his/her own attitude;
  • be informed about culture, history and the present of the Czech nation within the European and world context;
  • know the principles and values of a democratic society and basic civil and labor rights;
  • apply basic mathematical skills to solve simple tasks;
  • deal adequately challenging problem situations, work in a team;
  • have the knowledge and skills needed for health care, provide the necessary first aid;
  • apply the fundamentals of health, occupational safety, and fire prevention and safety.

Vocational competences:

  • apply knowledge of chemistry, biology, and somatology in performing work activities;
  • classify pharmaceuticals by pharmacodynamic effect and understand dispensatories;
  • use the quality standards for pharmaceuticals and the quality control and management system;
  • understand technological operations and equipment used in the pharmaceutical and chemical industries and laboratories;
  • work in compliance with good manufacturing and laboratory practice;
  • know basic laboratory techniques, assemble regular laboratory devices and perform simple tests and analyses based on instructions;
  • operate parts of pharmaceutical and chemical operations, ensure their optimal functioning and minimise their impact on the environment and the work environment.
 
4. RANGE OF OCCUPATIONS ACCESSIBLE TO THE HOLDER OF THE CERTIFICATE 
The graduate can work in pharmaceutical and chemical operations and laboratories or in private businesses operating in chemistry, pharmaceutics and cosmetics, for which full qualifications are not required.
