3. PROFILE OF SKILLS AND COMPETENCES |
General competences:
- be well informed about culture, history and the present of the Czech nation within the European and world context;
- formulate views and attitudes verbally and in writing, communicate in at least one other foreign language, use technical terminology;
- educate themselves, work in an effective way and assess impartially results;
- adapt themselves to the changing conditions of life and work, work well in a team and be responsible for assigned tasks;
- work with information, use ICT;
- use basic mathematics and the basic principles of physics and chemistry when needed;
- know the present rights and duties of employers and employees and know how to conduct a job search;
- act in an environmentally-conscious manner and in compliance with strategies for sustainability;
- apply the fundamentals of health, occupational safety, and fire prevention and safety.
Vocational competences:
- sell qualified goods typical of the assortment in a bookshop including compiling the documentation connected to purchasing and selling goods and the services on offer, provide customers with professional advice services;
- work with cash registers and sales points systems;
- handle the goods in a trade-operational unit, including sorting and placing the books on the shelves;
- keep the bookshop's stocks full, treat goods, arrange them according to one's own design, promote the outlet's offer in a suitable manner;
- ensure various activities when publishing books including promoting the publishing house's production;
- secure the distribution firms' services, periodical press distribution;
- deal with complaints when selling and purchasing goods and provide services in accord with the valid legislation;
- keep an administrative agenda using computer technology and the standard office technologies;
- make out business letters in the standardised form for the CR;
- keep tax records;
- behave sociably and professionally in relations with customers and business partners.
