3. PROFILE OF SKILLS AND COMPETENCES
General competences:
 
  • be well informed about culture, history and the present of the Czech nation within the European and world context;
  • formulate views and attitudes verbally and in writing, communicate in at least one other foreign language;
  • effectively organize and manage and participate in a team, including the ability to lead a team and cope with problematic situations;
  • know how to use information and ICT, have basic ICT skills;
  • use basic mathematics and the basic principles of physics and chemistry when needed;
  • act in an environmentally-conscious manner and in compliance with strategies for sustainability;
  • apply the fundamentals of health, occupational safety, and fire prevention and safety.

Vocational competences:

  • read technical drawings and gather designs of simple components, use the technical documentation and apply basic user skills in using a PC;
  • use suitable kinds of engineering materials according to their properties and work them in a basic manner by hand or machine;
  • carry out the activities connected to heat treating materials including the metalwork production of tools and parts, apply these procedures when renovating parts including basic welding methods;
  • carry out basic assembly work and simple repairs to farm machinery and equipment;
  • select suitable work aids, tools, implements and machines, service and maintain them;
  • cooperate when shoeing a horse and treat the hooves of domesticated animals;
  • drive and operate tractors;
  • apply the principles of health and safety at work.
 
4. RANGE OF OCCUPATIONS ACCESSIBLE TO THE HOLDER OF THE CERTIFICATE 
The graduate is ready to carry out activities in the production of machines and equipment, maintain them, during renovation and mainly when carrying out repairs to agricultural equipment. They can also find employment in related work, e.g. repairing farm machinery, welding, as a locksmith, etc. After gaining the necessary practice and passing any prescribed exams they can work independently in the branch. After passing the farrier's exam they can carry out this work independently. They can also treat the hooves of cattle, sheep, goats and pigs.
