3. PROFILE OF SKILLS AND COMPETENCES
General competences:
 
  • communicate independently and fluently in mother tongue, give reason for his own attitude;
  • seek out essential information from the text and other sources;
  • understand the task and solve simple problems, find the information necessary for the solution;
  • work or learn under supervision with certain autonomy, apply basic rules and procedures;
  • cooperate with others when solving simple problems and situations;
  • apply basic mathematic skills to solve simple tasks;
  • work with a personal computer and its basic and application software;
  • apply principles of safety and health protection at work, fire protection and fire prevention;
  • act in an environmentally-conscious manner and in compliance with strategies for sustainability;
  • have a basic knowledge of career opportunities in the labor market and of the job search process.

Vocational competences:

  • choose suitable raw materials and evaluate their properties and quality, mark their quantity, store them in accordance with applicable principles;
  • prepare the workplace, necessary tools and equipment for jewellery production, have knowledge of the production documentation;
  • work with tools, operate machines and perform basic maintenance;
  • prepare and manipulate the material;
  • use applicable standards and adhere to technological procedure in the production process;
  • perform basic technological operations during the technological process and select appropriate finishing operations in the manufacture of jewellery;
  • demonstrate manual and handicraft skills in the production;
  • detect defects of products and remove them;
  • assess the quality and sort jewellery products;
  • label, pack and ship the jewellery products;
  • dispose waste generated in the production of jewellery in accordance with the applicable procedures and environmental principles.
 
4. RANGE OF OCCUPATIONS ACCESSIBLE TO THE HOLDER OF THE CERTIFICATE 
The graduate is emplyoed in the field of glass and jewellery manufacture, in work activities such as molding of glass and metal materials, surface finishing, in the assembly and finishing, sorting of semifinished and finished products, quality assessment, packaging and shipping of finished products.
The graduate acquires during the course of study the basic requirements for employment in the area of custom jewellery and mass production.
Examples of possible jobs: auxiliary worker in the jewellery production.
