3. PROFILE OF SKILLS AND COMPETENCES

General competences:

be well informed about culture, history and the present of the Czech nation within the European and world context;
formulate views and attitudes verbally and in writing, communicate in at least one other foreign language;
effectively organize and manage and participate in a team, including the ability to lead a team and cope with problematic situations;
know how to use information and ICT, have basic ICT skills;
use basic mathematics and the basic principles of physics and chemistry when needed;
act in an environmentally-conscious manner and in compliance with strategies for sustainability;
apply the fundamentals of health, occupational safety, and fire prevention and safety.

Vocational competences:

prepare and arrange goods for sale;
provide customers with professional advice regarding sold goods;
demonstrate goods to customers;
wrap goods in different ways, including gift wrap;
handle complaints regarding goods in compliance with the effective legislation;
have good manners and act professionally in contact with customers and business partners;
operate the cash register by himself/herself and accept cash and non-cash payments;
keep cash register paperwork;
receive and inspect goods;
store and take care of goods in compliance with the effective legislation;
use devices, machinery and other store equipment;
keep documents on movement of goods at the store;
perform physical and accounting stocktaking of goods at the store;
know the basics of promotion and display with respect to displaying and selling goods;
prepare offers and use sales support instruments;
prepare standardised company and sales documents;
know the main groups of sold goods.

4. RANGE OF OCCUPATIONS ACCESSIBLE TO THE HOLDER OF THE CERTIFICATE

The graduate can work in retail. After having obtained necessary work experience in the field, the graduate will be ready for private enterprising.
Examples of possible jobs: sales assistant and cashier.
