3. PROFILE OF SKILLS AND COMPETENCES
General competences:
 
  • be well informed about culture, history and the present of the Czech nation within the European and world context;
  • formulate views and attitudes verbally and in writing, communicate in at least one other foreign language;
  • effectively organize and manage and participate in a team, including the ability to lead a team and cope with problematic situations;
  • know how to use information and ICT, have basic ICT skills;
  • use basic mathematics and the basic principles of physics and chemistry when needed;
  • act in an environmentally-conscious manner and in compliance with strategies for sustainability;
  • apply the fundamentals of health, occupational safety, and fire prevention and safety.

Vocational competences:

  • read the technical diagrams, norms and schemes, work instructions and other technical documentation;
  • distinguish the properties of metal and non-metal materials according to the labelling of the technical norms;
  • independently choose the work procedures for assembly and repairs and the necessary working means;
  • process technical materials by hand;
  • carry out the basic technical operations from the area of machine tooling and operations using mechanised tools;
  • use measuring and checking means;
  • maintain the working environment and, according to needs, modify or make it depending on the requirements of the work activity;
  • use lifting and other mechanised means;
  • determine the causes of breakdowns in machine components and simple mechanisms and set out a procedure for correcting them;
  • disassemble and assemble assembly groups, subgroups and parts of machines and equipment exchanging spare parts and then matching components independently or according to instructions;
  • carry out the usual, medium and general repairs to machines and equipment.
 
4. RANGE OF OCCUPATIONS ACCESSIBLE TO THE HOLDER OF THE CERTIFICATE 
The graduate in the field of repairs mechanic is ready to carry out blue collar vocations in the area of assembling, repairing and maintaining machines and equipment.
Examples of possible jobs: mechanic for the operational assembly of gas pipelines and gas equipment, a mechanic for forestry machines and equipment, a mechanic for motorised locomotives and motorised carriages, a fitter for tracked vehicles.
