3. PROFILE OF SKILLS AND COMPETENCES |
General competences:
- be well informed about culture, history and the present of the Czech nation within the European and world context;
- formulate views and attitudes verbally and in writing, communicate in at least one other foreign language, use technical terminology;
- educate themselves, work in an effective way and assess impartially results;
- adapt themselves to the changing conditions of life and work, work well in a team and be responsible for assigned tasks;
- work with information, use ICT;
- use basic mathematics and the basic principles of physics and chemistry when needed;
- know the present rights and duties of employers and employees and know how to conduct a job search;
- act in an environmentally-conscious manner and in compliance with strategies for sustainability;
- apply the fundamentals of health, occupational safety, and fire prevention and safety.
Vocational competences:
- work with clients (children and adults) or help them to become independent and care for themselves;
- support independence and activation of clients by teaching them simple daily routines and work and social habits and providing them with contact with the outside world;
- help clients with taking care of their household and handling their personal matters;
- apply the knowledge of somatology, medical science, psychology and pedagogy, including special and social pedagogy, when working with clients;
- apply the methods and procedures of direct social work and basic nursing adequately to the health condition of clients, use suitable compensation and other tools and technical equipment;
- observe the rights of clients and the quality of provided care;
- treat clients with empathy and based on general ethical and Christian principles;
- understand the system of social services in the CR, the methods and forms of social work provided to a specific group of clients (handicapped, senior citizens, children);
- carry out social search under the supervision of a social worker and provide social assistance;
- keep paperwork about clients;
- understand the basics of the civil, family, labour, social services and social security law.
