3. PROFILE OF SKILLS AND COMPETENCES |
General competences:
- be well informed about culture, history and the present of the Czech nation within the European and world context;
- formulate views and attitudes verbally and in writing, communicate in at least one other foreign language, use technical terminology;
- educate themselves, work in an effective way and assess impartially results;
- adapt themselves to the changing conditions of life and work, work well in a team and be responsible for assigned tasks;
- work with information, use ICT;
- use basic mathematics and the basic principles of physics and chemistry when needed;
- know the present rights and duties of employers and employees and know how to conduct a job search;
- act in an environmentally-conscious manner and in compliance with strategies for sustainability;
- apply the fundamentals of health, occupational safety, and fire prevention and safety.
Vocational competences:
- be familiar with the legal regulation of work relations and liability relations;
- know the basic legal norms essential for business especially with regards to the area of tourism;
- be familiar with the trade-entrepreneurial activities of market subjects;
- set up calculations, know the principles of price formation;
- use marketing tools for presenting the company and its products, organise market research;
- lead business negotiations and prepare the background materials for the contractual provision of purchases and the sale of products and services;
- calculate VAT, income tax, social and health insurance and insuring for an organisation's liability;
- work with catalogues and company brochures, with certificates, with consumer tests;
- set up accounting documents, keep tax records, carry out accounting - all using computers;
- assess and estimate the state and development of the state's economy on the basis of statistical indicators;
- make out typical letters in a standardised form;
- provide, ensure and sell services related to tourism;
- do the paperwork of a tourist agency and tourist office;
- apply knowledge of geography, history and art-history about important tourist destinations in the CR and in Europe and the world when structuring tours;
- provide information services on tourism.
