3. PROFILE OF SKILLS AND COMPETENCES |
General competences:
- be well informed about culture, history and the present of the Czech nation within the European and world context;
- formulate views and attitudes verbally and in writing, communicate in at least one other foreign language, use technical terminology;
- educate themselves, work in an effective way and assess impartially results;
- adapt themselves to the changing conditions of life and work, work well in a team and be responsible for assigned tasks;
- work with information, use ICT;
- use basic mathematics and the basic principles of physics and chemistry when needed;
- know the present rights and duties of employers and employees and know how to conduct a job search;
- act in an environmentally-conscious manner and in compliance with strategies for sustainability;
- apply the fundamentals of health, occupational safety, and fire prevention and safety.
Vocational competences:
- select a suitable kind and technique of massage in accord with the client's requirements and actual health status, using technological approaches and new scientific findings;
- consistently adhere to the health and hygiene regulations and the principles of personal and work hygiene;
- select suitable massage preparations according to their properties and usage;
- adhere to the correct dosing for preparations and the ways of disposing of them safely once they come to the end of their lifespan;
- provide advisory services and recommend a healthy lifestyle;
- use computer programmes to keep client records and carry out other administrative activities;
- use marketing tools to present a firm and offer massage services;
- be familiar with the economic and legal provisions of operations;
- systematically care about one's professional development, appearance and personal hygiene;
- make contact with the clients in a suitable manner, to talk with them and listen to them;
- deal with stressful situations, regulate ones behaviour to avoid conflicts and tension among people;
- conduct oneself professionally and with decorum in relations with clients, co-workers and business partners.
