3. PROFILE OF SKILLS AND COMPETENCES |
General competences:
- be well informed about culture, history and the present of the Czech nation within the European and world context;
- formulate views and attitudes verbally and in writing, communicate in at least one other foreign language, use technical terminology;
- educate themselves, work in an effective way and assess impartially results;
- adapt themselves to the changing conditions of life and work, work well in a team and be responsible for assigned tasks;
- work with information, use ICT;
- use basic mathematics and the basic principles of physics and chemistry when needed;
- know the present rights and duties of employers and employees and know how to conduct a job search;
- act in an environmentally-conscious manner and in compliance with strategies for sustainability;
- apply the fundamentals of health, occupational safety, and fire prevention and safety.
Vocational competences:
- be familiar in the area of art history and the aesthetics of applied art;
- be familiar with current design trends, apply the ability to invent a creative solution to a given task;
- have a command of the basic creative expression techniques associated with the creative processing of materials in the profession;
- have a grasp of the possibilities of applying and using letters, have a command of the basic practical skills in the area of writing, drawing and constructing letters;
- command the display methods of descriptive geometry;
- be aware of and have skills in the area of computer graphics programmes in professional activities;
- be familiar with the basic electrical equipment and wiring that is important in the profession;
- have knowledge of the basic properties of light and their measurement;
- have a grasp of the composition, properties, tests and materials used for making light fittings;
- have a command of constructing the elements and wholes of individual types of light fittings including making out the relevant documentation;
- design light fittings, prepare light objects with respect of the functional, aesthetic, technical, material, economic and production requirements;
- make simple, complicated and highly demanding products using creative designs;
- be familiar with the range of work tools, aids, instruments and machines, know how to use them for a specific work procedure, know how to treat and store them;
- precisely observe the set technological procedures when working with the material, respect the pertinent standards;
- make complete design, technical and technological documentation.
