3. PROFILE OF SKILLS AND COMPETENCES

General competences:

communicate independently and fluently in mother tongue, give reason for his own attitude;
work in a team;
use basic mathematics when needed;
apply the fundamentals of health, occupational safety, and fire prevention and safety.

Vocational competences:

help when preparing the optimal environmental conditions for growing garden cultures;
fertilise, side-dress or apply basic preparations against pests and diseases according to instructions;
use, repair and maintain minor hand tools for gardening, treat and if necessary operate simple gardening machines;
reproduce flowers by generative and vegetative means;
cooperate when planting out plants in a permanent stand and when nursing them;
bind and arrange plants and make simple florist arrangements.

4. RANGE OF OCCUPATIONS ACCESSIBLE TO THE HOLDER OF THE CERTIFICATE

The graduate can find work in the position of an employee when working in gardening (floriculture, florist work), above all when assisting during the reproduction and growing of flowers or when tying and arranging flowers.
Examples of possible jobs: florist, flower arranger-binder (florist).
