3. PROFILE OF SKILLS AND COMPETENCES |
General competences:
- be well informed about culture, history and the present of the Czech nation within the European and world context;
- formulate views and attitudes verbally and in writing, communicate in at least one other foreign language, use technical terminology;
- educate themselves, work in an effective way and assess impartially results;
- adapt themselves to the changing conditions of life and work, work well in a team and be responsible for assigned tasks;
- work with information, use ICT;
- use basic mathematics and the basic principles of physics and chemistry when needed;
- know the present rights and duties of employers and employees and know how to conduct a job search;
- act in an environmentally-conscious manner and in compliance with strategies for sustainability;
- apply the fundamentals of health, occupational safety, and fire prevention and safety.
Vocational competences:
- be familiar with tourism services, the manner of supplying and providing them;
- offer and sell catering, accommodation, spa, exchange, transport and other services closely associated with tourism;
- apply knowledge of the geography, history and art of important tourist destinations in the CR and Europe and the world when putting together tours and during activities as a tourist guide;
- communicate in two foreign languages;
- prepare and realise a guided tour in Czech and in foreign language, carry out tourist guide activities, keep a tour guide's agenda;
- keep accounts, tax records, carry out accounting and use accounting information to effectively manage an accounting entity;
- use the basic marketing methods of market research in tourism;
- promote tourism products in a suitable manner;
- make up calculations, know the principles of price formation for tourism products;
- know the basic legal norms necessary for doing business in tourism;
- be familiar with business/entrepreneurial activities;
- provide information services.
