3. PROFILE OF SKILLS AND COMPETENCES |
General competences:
- be well informed about culture, history and the present of the Czech nation within the European and world context;
- formulate views and attitudes verbally and in writing, communicate in at least one other foreign language, use technical terminology;
- educate themselves, work in an effective way and assess impartially results;
- adapt themselves to the changing conditions of life and work, work well in a team and be responsible for assigned tasks;
- work with information, use ICT;
- use basic mathematics and the basic principles of physics and chemistry when needed;
- know the present rights and duties of employers and employees and know how to conduct a job search;
- act in an environmentally-conscious manner and in compliance with strategies for sustainability;
- apply the fundamentals of health, occupational safety, and fire prevention and safety.
Vocational competences:
- know construction materials and structures;
- know the different types and properties of materials used for technical equipment of buildings;
- have basic knowledge about the mechanics of solids, flexibility, resistance, hydromechanics and thermomechanics;
- work with specific application software used in the field;
- know the methods of technical drawing and understand engineering and construction drawings;
- have basic skills in doing installations inside buildings;
- know the systems of technical equipment of buildings and their functions;
- perform basic calculations and know and realise technological and structural procedures, including the measuring and regulating of heat sources and distribution systems, heating, water supply, sewerage, gas piping, ventilation, and air-conditioning;
- understand the measuring of heat technology and air-conditioning;
- understand and realise the measuring of heat technology, air-conditioning, and hydromechanics;
- know how to assemble, service, maintain, and test technical equipment of buildings;
- prepare design documentation, handover reports, and test reports of technical equipment of buildings and apply relevant technical standards and regulations, using computer programmes;
- know the technology of water and waste water treatment.
