3. PROFILE OF SKILLS AND COMPETENCES
General competences:
 
  • be well informed about culture, history and the present of the Czech nation within the European and world context;
  • formulate views and attitudes verbally and in writing, communicate in at least one other foreign language, use technical terminology;
  • educate themselves, work in an effective way and assess impartially results;
  • adapt themselves to the changing conditions of life and work, work well in a team and be responsible for assigned tasks;
  • work with information, use ICT;
  • use basic mathematics and the basic principles of physics and chemistry when needed;
  • know the present rights and duties of employers and employees and know how to conduct a job search;
  • act in an environmentally-conscious manner and in compliance with strategies for sustainability;
  • apply the fundamentals of health, occupational safety, and fire prevention and safety.

Vocational competences:

  • work with the professional literature and pertinent kinds of documentation;
  • read electrical assembly diagrams and time diagrams;
  • be familiar with planning and project preparation for individual telecommunications networks, telephone and telegraph exchanges including transfer equipment and data transfer;
  • know the properties of electronic circuits and their application in specific equipment;
  • repair simple and complex electrical equipment, make operational measurements and assess them;
  • determine the correct procedure when reactivating electronic equipment as a working unit;
  • know the systems of connection and transfer equipment, the principles of new technical media and the technological procedures of the higher generations in communications technology;
  • choose a suitable measurement method including the measuring instruments;
  • operate measuring instruments and know the measuring methods when using computer equipment facilities;
  • use computer equipment for controlling technological monitoring processes including monitoring fault-free states in telecommunications networks.
 
4. RANGE OF OCCUPATIONS ACCESSIBLE TO THE HOLDER OF THE CERTIFICATE 
The graduate can find work in middle management positions in the area of information transfer and processing technology.
Examples of possible jobs: operations dispatcher in electronic communications, technician for connecting equipment in electronic communications, technician for transfer equipment and telecommunications services in electronic communications, network technician in electronic communications, technician for radio communications equipment in electronic communications, control technician of electronic communications, planning technician in electronic communications.
