3. PROFILE OF SKILLS AND COMPETENCES
General competences:
 
  • be well informed about culture, history and the present of the Czech nation within the European and world context;
  • formulate views and attitudes verbally and in writing, communicate in at least one other foreign language, use technical terminology;
  • educate themselves, work in an effective way and assess impartially results;
  • adapt themselves to the changing conditions of life and work, work well in a team and be responsible for assigned tasks;
  • work with information, use ICT;
  • use basic mathematics and the basic principles of physics and chemistry when needed;
  • know the present rights and duties of employers and employees and know how to conduct a job search;
  • act in an environmentally-conscious manner and in compliance with strategies for sustainability;
  • apply the fundamentals of health, occupational safety, and fire prevention and safety.

Vocational competences:

  • carry out and organise work activities when growing plants;
  • carry out and organise work activities when rearing animals;
  • carry out and organise work activities when processing agricultural products;
  • ensure the maintenance, repair and effective use of agricultural technology;
  • carry out and organise activities associated with landscape protection and formation, organic farming and rural development;
  • make basic laboratory analyses of soil, water, fertilizers, feedstuffs and agricultural products, record the results and deduce the adequate operational measures;
  • ensure the purchase of raw materials, the sale and distribution of agricultural products;
  • appraise the economic indicators of plant and animals production, assess them, infer the appropriate measures and use them for management;
  • make out accounting documents, keep tax records for entrepreneurs, do accounts using computer technologies;
  • drive group B (cars) and group T (tractor) motor vehicles.
 
4. RANGE OF OCCUPATIONS ACCESSIBLE TO THE HOLDER OF THE CERTIFICATE 
The graduate can find work in middle management positions in the agricultural complex (primary agricultural production, agricultural and rural development services, landscape protection and formation, etc.), during the organisation and management activities associated with growing plants, rearing animals, breeding, processing agricultural products and making accounting documents, in the area of commercial technical services, services within rural development (e.g. agritourism) and landscape care, etc. Graduates can also find work in the area of private enterprise.
Examples of possible jobs: agricultural technician, agronomist, livestock specialist, farmer, trader in agricultural products, breeder, grower, sales services for agriculture, technology salesperson, agricultural entrepreneur.
