3. PROFILE OF SKILLS AND COMPETENCES |
General competences:
- be well informed about culture, history and the present of the Czech nation within the European and world context;
- formulate views and attitudes verbally and in writing, communicate in at least one other foreign language, use technical terminology;
- educate themselves, work in an effective way and assess impartially results;
- adapt themselves to the changing conditions of life and work, work well in a team and be responsible for assigned tasks;
- work with information, use ICT;
- use basic mathematics and the basic principles of physics and chemistry when needed;
- know the present rights and duties of employers and employees and know how to conduct a job search;
- act in an environmentally-conscious manner and in compliance with strategies for sustainability;
- apply the fundamentals of health, occupational safety, and fire prevention and safety.
Vocational competences:
- apply one's knowledge from biology, ecology, geology and geography when carrying out work activities;
- sample environmental components, carry out the appropriate measurements and observations in laboratories, in plants and in the field, compile and assess the results of the measurements;
- operate the pertinent devices and equipment, ensure their operation, maintenance and checks;
- propose partial solutions in nature, landscape and environmental protection with an emphasis on preventative measures in all areas of human activity;
- be familiar with water and waste management and the relevant legislation;
- ensure an agenda for managing individual environmental components, carry out control, methodological and consultation activities in the area of environmental protection and renewal in a defined section, monitor the adherence to the pertinent legal regulations and norms, make decisions on penalties and propose remedial measures;
- carry out educational activities for the public in accord with the sustainable development strategy.
