3. PROFILE OF SKILLS AND COMPETENCES

General competences:

be well informed about culture, history and the present of the Czech nation within the European and world context;
formulate views and attitudes verbally and in writing, communicate in at least one other foreign language, use technical terminology;
educate themselves, work in an effective way and assess impartially results;
adapt themselves to the changing conditions of life and work, work well in a team and be responsible for assigned tasks;
work with information, use ICT;
use basic mathematics and the basic principles of physics and chemistry when needed;
know the present rights and duties of employers and employees and know how to conduct a job search;
act in an environmentally-conscious manner and in compliance with strategies for sustainability;
apply the fundamentals of health, occupational safety, and fire prevention and safety.

Vocational competences:

negotiate the purchase and sale of goods and services;
sell goods of varying ranges including elaborating the documentation linked to the sale and purchase of goods and services;
work with cash desks and cash desk systems;
handle goods in business-operational units;
deal with complaints during the sale and purchase of goods and services in accord with the valid legislation;
keep an administrative agenda using computing technology and standard office technology;
make business correspondence in the standardised regulations of the Czech Republic;
keep accounts in accord with the legal norms of the Czech Republic and use computing technology for this;
determine the tax duties for the basic taxes in the Czech Republic (VAT, income tax);
use an effective marketing strategy, carry out marketing research, data collection and analysis;
conducting oneself sociably and professionally when discussing matters with customers and business partners.

4. RANGE OF OCCUPATIONS ACCESSIBLE TO THE HOLDER OF THE CERTIFICATE

The graduate can find work in organisations and companies in the sales and purchases departments. After training he or she can work as the head of a small collective.
Examples of possible jobs: businessman, business officer, business representative, sales clerk, purchasing officer, goods expert, head of sales department
