3. PROFILE OF SKILLS AND COMPETENCES
General competences:
 
  • be well informed about culture, history and the present of the Czech nation within the European and world context;
  • formulate views and attitudes verbally and in writing, communicate in at least one other foreign language, use technical terminology;
  • educate themselves, work in an effective way and assess impartially results;
  • adapt themselves to the changing conditions of life and work, work well in a team and be responsible for assigned tasks;
  • work with information, use ICT;
  • use basic mathematics and the basic principles of physics and chemistry when needed;
  • know the present rights and duties of employers and employees and know how to conduct a job search;
  • act in an environmentally-conscious manner and in compliance with strategies for sustainability;
  • apply the fundamentals of health, occupational safety, and fire prevention and safety.

Vocational competences:

  • apply knowledge of the historical development and current trends of creative culture and creative arts to ones work in the profession;
  • clearly formulate ones thoughts and the contents of the creative aim;
  • choose the options for a creative solution on the basis of analysing the given task, assess and justify it;
  • use the creative and expressional possibilities of different media, technological procedures, techniques and materials;
  • when creating a creative design take into account the economic and technical standpoint of its realisation;
  • be familiar with the marketing tools and carry out basic marketing activities in relation to the profession;
  • have a command of the digital and analogue procedures and techniques, choose the most suitable procedures for realising the creative design, constantly assess the quality of the partial work operations;
  • have a grasp of integrating images into printed and other media, know the corresponding software tools and technological procedures for processing an image and text, decide on their selection from the standpoint of the resulting creative tone;
  • correctly use the corresponding hardware and software within the relevant work procedures;
  • effectively organise ones work with regard to a deadline, carry it out perfectly in accord with the creative intention and the high demands on the quality of processing the final product;
  • monitor the development of new technologies, software and hardware and use it;
  • have a command of the basic economic activities in relation to the assumed professional use;
  • have a command of the principles of professional behaviour, communications, teamwork and the psychological basics of dealing with clients, business and work partners.
 
4. RANGE OF OCCUPATIONS ACCESSIBLE TO THE HOLDER OF THE CERTIFICATE 
The graduate can find work in middle management positions in the area of technical preparation and control of the pertinent activities or production during working activities in photographic studios, in DTP studios, advertising agencies, film and television studios, in magazine newsrooms, publishing houses, in scientific and research institutes in the fields of scientific and technical photography.
Examples of possible jobs: independent photograph, photo journalist, reporter, editor, etc.
