3. PROFILE OF SKILLS AND COMPETENCES
General competences:
 
  • be well informed about culture, history and the present of the Czech nation within the European and world context;
  • formulate views and attitudes verbally and in writing, communicate in at least one other foreign language, use technical terminology;
  • educate themselves, work in an effective way and assess impartially results;
  • adapt themselves to the changing conditions of life and work, work well in a team and be responsible for assigned tasks;
  • work with information, use ICT;
  • use basic mathematics and the basic principles of physics and chemistry when needed;
  • know the present rights and duties of employers and employees and know how to conduct a job search;
  • act in an environmentally-conscious manner and in compliance with strategies for sustainability;
  • apply the fundamentals of health, occupational safety, and fire prevention and safety.

Vocational competences:

  • have knowledge of legal system of the Czech Republic and the EU;
  • know the provisions of civil, labour, family and financial law;
  • have knowledge of the structure of government and of the force of state and local authorities;
  • keep a personal agenda of the organization;
  • type ten finger tactile method;
  • draw up the documents in a standardized format;
  • have an overview of the different theories and approaches in social work;
  • know the role of social policy and its objectives and instruments;
  • justify the various measures of social policy;
  • can solve the contradictions and conflicts arising from the specifics of the individual cultures;
  • have an overview of the various types of diseases with the social impact on different age groups;
  • understand basic economic concepts;
  • understand the interactions between the economy and social policy of the state.
 
4. RANGE OF OCCUPATIONS ACCESSIBLE TO THE HOLDER OF THE CERTIFICATE 
The graduate is employed in the middle management positions in the field of social, socio-legal and human resources, in activities related to working with people.
Examples of possible job positions: social service worker, social referent of state and local authorities, HR specialist, employee of non-profit organization.
