3. PROFILE OF SKILLS AND COMPETENCES |
General competences:
- be well informed about culture, history and the present of the Czech nation within the European and world context;
- formulate views and attitudes verbally and in writing, communicate in at least one other foreign language, use technical terminology;
- educate themselves, work in an effective way and assess impartially results;
- adapt themselves to the changing conditions of life and work, work well in a team and be responsible for assigned tasks;
- work with information, use ICT;
- use basic mathematics and the basic principles of physics and chemistry when needed;
- know the present rights and duties of employers and employees and know how to conduct a job search;
- act in an environmentally-conscious manner and in compliance with strategies for sustainability;
- apply the fundamentals of health, occupational safety, and fire prevention and safety.
Vocational competences:
- work with clients (children and adults) or help them to become independent and care for themselves;
- support independence and activation of clients;
- help to create basic social contacts and satisfy the socio-psychological needs of clients;
- provide basic educational, non-pedagogic services to improve and reinforce basic hygienic and social habits and support the abilities of clients;
- help to create and develop work habits;
- prepare and carry out leisure activities focusing on the development of personality, interests, knowledge and creative abilities of clients and use techniques and methods of visual art, music and physical education;
- provide interest and cultural activities for clients;
- prepare and realise daily interest and educational programmes for clients in social services facilities;
- apply the knowledge of somatology, medical science, psychology and pedagogy, including special pedagogy when working with clients;
- observe the rights of clients and the quality of provided care;
- treat clients with empathy and based on general ethical and Christian principles;
- understand the system of social services in the CR, the methods and forms of social work provided to a specific group of clients (handicapped, senior citizens, children);
- understand the basics of the civil, family, labour, social services and social security law.
