3. PROFILE OF SKILLS AND COMPETENCES
General competences:
 
  • be well informed about culture, history and the present of the Czech nation within the European and world context;
  • formulate views and attitudes verbally and in writing, communicate in at least one other foreign language, use technical terminology;
  • educate themselves, work in an effective way and assess impartially results;
  • adapt themselves to the changing conditions of life and work, work well in a team and be responsible for assigned tasks;
  • work with information, use ICT;
  • use basic mathematics and the basic principles of physics and chemistry when needed;
  • know the present rights and duties of employers and employees and know how to conduct a job search;
  • act in an environmentally-conscious manner and in compliance with strategies for sustainability;
  • apply the fundamentals of health, occupational safety, and fire prevention and safety.

Vocational competences:

  • perform and organise work activities regarding livestock breeding;
  • organise the reproduction process in an agricultural enterprise;
  • check observation of animal hygienic conditions and ensure welfare of livestock;
  • assist a veterinarian during surgical procedures and treatment;
  • cure ill and injured livestock under the supervision of a veterinarian;
  • perform and organise work activities in plant growing;
  • maintain, repair and effectively utilise agricultural technology;
  • evaluate and understand economic indicators of agricultural production and adopt appropriate measures and utilise them in management, prepare accounting documents;
  • treat different categories of horses, monitor their growth and development;
  • ride a horse and ride with the horse team, use equipment for riding and harness.
 
4. RANGE OF OCCUPATIONS ACCESSIBLE TO THE HOLDER OF THE CERTIFICATE 
The graduate is employed in the middle management positions in the agrocomplex (primary agricultural production and services for agriculture and country development), organising and managing the activities related to livestock breeding, raising, plant growing, processing of agricultural products and preparation of accounting documents, in business-technical services, country development services (e.g. agro-tourism) etc.
In the field of horse breeding and riding will assert in sports, racing and recreational riding, agrotourism, in forestry, in companies with horse team transport and other facilities aimed at horse breeding.
Examples of possible jobs: livestock specialist, farmer, merchant with agricultural products, breeder, dealer of services for agriculture, art seller of technology, agricultural entrepreneur, rider, horse breeder.
